Zack works to enable everyone to better see and understand the complexity of the education system, in order to take effective action to transform it. As part of the Organizational Learning and Foundations team, Zack ensures that strong data infrastructure and human-centered data practices form the basis of a healthy data culture within Transcend.
Prior to Transcend, Zack has worked in classrooms, school district central office, and a variety of nonprofits across the education ecosystem. Most recently, Zack served as the Director of Data and Evaluation at United Way in Asheville, NC. There, he managed data culture, practices, and infrastructure for a county-wide student success planning initiative and cradle-to-career strategy.
Zack is based in Cincinnati, OH with his wife and their two young children. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Denison University and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
