Lindsey Lorehn
Lindsey is a Partner of Innovative Learning Models at Transcend focused on codifying and sharing innovative and liberatory school models.
Prior to joining Transcend, Lindsey spent over the past fifteen years teaching and leading in public education. Lindsey began her career in Denver Public Schools as a Kindergarten teacher and Teach For America corps member. She then transitioned to coaching teachers and leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work as a Director of Teacher Leader Development with Teach For America – Colorado. Lindsey then joined KIPP in 2012 as a Miles Family Fellow and second grade teacher at SPARK Academy in Newark, NJ. In 2015, Lindsey founded KIPP Northeast Elementary in Denver, KIPP Colorado’s first elementary school. KIPP Northeast Elementary was founded on the belief that all kids deserved an excellent and equitable education. Lindsey led the community of KIPP Northeast Elementary for five years with a focus on social emotional development, social justice, and rigorous academic learning. In 2020, Lindsey transitioned to KIPP Texas-Houston as a Deputy Head of Schools and then Head of Schools coaching and managing five Principals and a school leader manager.
Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado-Denver. Lindsey lives in Houston with her husband and two kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, doing yoga, solving puzzles and watching Bravo.
