Leanna Lantz has been working in education for over 15 years.
Leanna discovered her passion for social justice and promoting systemic change during her undergraduate work at Berea College where she was taught how to identify and unpack her own biases and to become a citizen of a world where all people deserve to thrive. After graduation, she pursued dismantling injustices through education with Teach for America where she served as a corp member in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas from 2006-2008.
She continued this mission in Chicago when she joined the Perspectives Charter School network in 2008. During her time with Perspectives, Leanna served as a Teacher, an Instructional Coach, a Dean, a Director, of Curriculum and ultimately the Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction. In her VP role, she acted as a thought-partner and advisor to network and school leaders, igniting innovation in education.
After earning a Masters in Public Policy at the University of Chicago, she joined Transcend Education where she applies her passion for social justice to inform and shape educational innovation in a ways that improve the school experience for ALL students as a School Design Partner.
