Christian Martinez-Canchola
Christian is a Partner at Transcend, where she collaborates with schools to create transformative, community-centered learning environments that empower all students to thrive. She supports school design teams in developing innovative models alongside their communities, prioritizing extraordinary experiences and equitable outcomes to prepare each student to navigate and shape the world.
Before joining Transcend, Christian was a school leader at Uplift Education, where she focused on designing sustainable practices that led to equitable outcomes. Her journey in education began as a Dual Language elementary teacher in Dallas ISD and D.C. Public Schools. Teaching in Dallas was especially meaningful to her as it was the same district that taught her English. As a proud Mexican-American and first-generation college graduate, Christian believes deeply in education’s power to create generational change and is dedicated to making this a reality for all families.
Christian holds a B.A. in English and Sociology from Kenyon College and an M.Ed. in Urban Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University. She is also a 2012 alum of Teach For America Dallas-Fort Worth.
At home in Dallas, TX, Christian enjoys spending time with her beloved pups. When not with family and friends, she can be found running, reading, or relaxing at her favorite coffee shop, crafting her next adventure.
