Josh is the head of Strategy and Planning for Transcend, leading key projects to operationalize our vision of all school communities being on a locally determined design journey towards extraordinary, equitable learning. These projects include overseeing annual and long-range planning processes, managing org-wide initiatives related to organizational strategy and design, and designing, building and implementing systems to support growth.
He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Summit Public Schools, a network of innovative, high performing charter schools in California and Washington. There, he oversaw talent and human resources, home office and school site operations, facilities, and technology. Prior to Summit, he led growth strategy and development initiatives at Teach For America and worked as a strategy consultant at The Monitor Group. He started his career as a 3rd and 4th grade classroom teacher in New York City public schools.
Josh earned his BA from Yale University, MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Masters in Educational Leadership from The Broad Center. He resides in Brooklyn, New York with his terrier pup named Chuck.
