Our work with school communities and the larger ecosystem is guided by five fundamental beliefs.
1
ALL CHILDREN HAVE INFINITE POTENTIAL.
They deserve to learn in environments that enable them to thrive in and transform the world.
2
TO REALIZE THIS POTENTIAL, WE MUST REIMAGINE “SCHOOLING” AS WE KNOW IT.
Instead of one-size-fits-all experiences that leave young people disconnected, bored, or locked in place, 10 key Leaps in education are essential to foster extraordinary and equitable learning experiences for all.
3
THE WORK IS MOST SUCCESSFUL WHEN PURSUED THROUGH A RIGOROUS, COMMUNITY-BASED DESIGN PROCESS.
This process enables young people, families, educators, and other community leaders to participate in developing and realizing a locally determined, collective vision. The process embraces research and evidence in multiple forms and is done by communities, not to them.
4
WHILE NEVER EASY, INNOVATION IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE.
The keys are underlying conditions (clarity, conviction, coalition, capacity, culture) that enable change and powerful, cohesive design of learning experiences.
5
ACCELERATING PROGRESS REQUIRES STRONG LOCAL LEADERSHIP SURROUNDED BY A CONDUCIVE ECOSYSTEM.
When diverse leaders come together in support of all learners, within a broader environment that fuels innovation, communities make the most progress.
