Leveraging AI to Improve Student Outcomes: Real Classroom Examples

Come explore projects from teachers who participated in a 6-month long cohort experience designed to support them in improving educational outcomes for their students using AI. These teachers had the opportunity to learn about the benefits and limits of AI, get hands-on with several AI-enabled tools and platforms, and design pilots based on the needs of their students. Participants of this session will get to see several proof points of how to use AI and get a framework for how to think about utilizing AI in classrooms.
Special note: after this AIR Show session, we will be hosting an AI Meet and Greet with Transcend from 3:20-4 PM at the Community Meet-Up Spot on the Show Floor, San Deigo Convention Center! Join us there if you are attending the AIR Show.

Letting the Littlest Learners Lead: Insights on K-2 Agency

What does it look like when the youngest learners take the lead on what they learn and how fast they progress? How do we support autonomy and agency in the early elementary years? In this interactive workshop, learn from two innovative school communities that made the shift from traditional grade-based progression to a fully competency-based system. Lindsay Unified and Red Bridge have been working together for the last 2 years with the support of Transcend and the Silicon Schools Fund to demystify K-2 agency. In the workshop, you’ll:
- Experience the new K-2 Agency Primer, which distills the latest collection of research on early learner agency
- Hear and see what this looks like and what it took from on-the-ground practitioners
- Get to play with a set of agency practice cards to put the research into action, whether you’re a K-12 leader or an ed tech innovator focused on reaching the youngest students.
