Greg Gunn, Founder of Lingo Ventures, Joins Transcend’s Board of Directors
Transcend, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to support communities to create and spread extraordinary, equitable learning environments, announces the addition of Greg Gunn to their Board of Directors. Mr. Gunn becomes the eleventh board member for the organization, joining leaders from New Profit, the New Schools Venture Fund, and Summit Public Schools, among others.
“Mr. Gunn brings immense experience in harnessing innovative technology to drive educational outcomes and equity for students,” shared Jeff Wetzler, co-founder of Transcend. “His insights and vision will be invaluable to our organization as we continue to grow and support more communities toward reimagining learning. We are grateful for his willingness to share his guidance with Transcend at this critical juncture for education.”
Mr. Gunn is the co-founder of Lingo Ventures where he makes early-stage investments in education and workforce technologies. In 2000, he co-founded Wireless Generation (now called Amplify), a leading educational software company serving millions of students annually with groundbreaking assessment and instruction products. Mr. Gunn was named one of Fast Company magazine’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” in 2012. Mr. Gunn is also the board chair of Education Leaders of Color and is a director of the Donors of Color Network, FHI 360, Bridgespan, and Zearn. He holds a Master of Science in Management and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University.
