A quick look at an exciting partnership advancing school redesign in Texas

Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy in DeSoto, TX, is part of Transcend’s 2019-2020 Southwest School Design Collaborative. They’ve partnered with Transcend and The University of Texas at Austin with the goal not to incrementally improve the traditional industrial age model of schooling, but to explore whole model transformation.

As a participant in the year long Collaborative, Katherine Johnson’s school design team is intentionally taking the time and space to explore learning science, see innovative school models, unearth the dreams and aspirations of their community, and consider the demands of the 21st century so that they can reimagine the core design of their school.
