Prior to joining the Transcend team, Jeremy worked in a number of instructional leadership positions with YES Prep Public Schools and Teach For America. He has also worked in college access with OneGoal Houston where he supported a team to acquire district partnerships, improve teacher coaching, and curate college seminar curriculum. 

Through the core values of Love, Liberation, and Learning, Jeremy has led teams to produce substantial student achievement growth, garner consistent staff satisfaction, execute 21st century pedagogical strategies, and utilize student-led restorative justice practices to replace the traditional zero-tolerance discipline policy.  

Jeremy holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Howard University, a Master’s of Arts Degree in Public School Building Leadership from Columbia University Teacher’s College, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Mind, Brain, and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University. 

Jeremy enjoys making memories with his wife, Chelsey, his son, Ajani, and a strong network of friends and family in Houston, TX. In his free time, he enjoys music (favorite artist is Big K.R.I.T), podcasts (favorite podcast is Scene On Radio), reading (favorite author is Kiese Laymon), and television shows (favorite show is currently “I May Destroy You”) that promote intellectual conversation.
